Embracing the NOFOMO Summer: A Rejuvenating Vacation in Norway

Last summer, we experienced what can only be described as the ultimate NOFOMO (No Fear Of Missing Out) vacation in the serene landscapes of Norway. This trip was a much-needed break from the hustle and bustle of daily life, offering a perfect blend of tranquility and simplicity.

We stayed in a cozy cabin by a picturesque lake, surrounded by nature's untouched beauty. Our days were filled with the simple joys of reading a ton of books and savoring good food (also about a ton ;)). There were no elaborate plans or hectic schedules—just pure relaxation and the freedom to enjoy the moment.

One of the highlights of this trip was the opportunity to reconnect with my passion for photography. Over the course of our stay, I took 100 pictures of the same lake. This might sound repetitive, but it was far from it. With no pressure to get the "perfect" shot and no limits on creativity, I allowed myself to experiment freely. I took my time, capturing the lake from different angles, in varying lights, and with different techniques.

This process of exploration and experimentation was incredibly liberating. In my professional life as a photographer, the demands and deadlines often overshadow the pure joy and excitement that initially drew me to photography. This vacation was a chance to rediscover that first kind of wonder and excitement.

Editing these photos recently brought back the calm and joy of those days by the lake. Some of the pictures turned out 'bad' by conventional standards, but each one tells a story of a moment when I felt truly at peace and free to create.

This NOFOMO summer vacation in Norway was a gentle reminder of the importance of slowing down and appreciating the simple pleasures in life. It was about disconnecting from the constant urge to keep up and instead, reconnecting with the things that truly bring joy and fulfillment.
